Built in 1870, Chateau de Laubade is today the largest single estate vineyard of the Bas Armagnac Appellation. The Lesgourgues family has been running the distillery for three generations, they have made Chateau de Laubade an indisputable reference in the Armagnac category. Chateau de Laubade has 260 acres of single vineyard in Bas Armagnac. Laubade uses four traditional grape varietals: Ugni-Blanc, Folle Blanche, Colombard and Baco. Ace Beverage selected some of Laubade's best vintages over the 2000's, 90’s, and 80’s, released at barrel proof. These Private bottlings are single vintage blends of Bas Armagnacs produced exclusively from the Chateau’s single vineyard, and distilled in the house’s Alambic, grape varietal by grape varietal. Laubade ages grape varietal by grape varietal in Gascony Oak barrels (black oaks selected in the surrounding forests), which are then blended and bottled at their natural alcohol strength.
