Domaine des Terrisses has been the property of the Cazottes family since 1750. Today Brigitte and Alain Cazottes take care of 40 organically farmed hectares. The vineyard is situated along the “Premiere Cotes” of Gaillac, the hillsides facing south-southwest toward the Tarn river. Domaine des Terrisses Rosé is a blend of approximately 50% Syrah, 25% Braucol and 25% Duras. The Syrah is directly pressed and the Braucol and Duras see a maceration lasting about 12 hours. Varieties are vinified separately and assembled after fermentation. No watermelon esters here. The juiciness and suppleness of the 2019 is immediately apparent as notes of ripe strawberry, raspberry, and orange citrus that gives it a zesty finish. This is an everyday wine that can be enjoyed by the glass and with a meal. Get some mimolette, try it with carrots and green goddess dressing, or sautéed shrimp.
