The High West Double Rye is a combination of two ryes, hence the word "double", one rye is sourced and the other is distilled at the High West Distillery. The combination of flavors created by these two ryes is bold but balanced, and tastes of baking spices, eucalyptus, clove, vanilla, and caramel. Our "Red Red Rye" private barrel takes it a step further and finishes the High West Double Rye in a used red Grenache wine barrel for one year and three months. The extra ageing provides extra layers of complexity, resulting in a truly unique whiskey. The mouthfeel is tannic and chewy with tasting notes of strawberry, cinnamon, almonds, butterscotch, spicy cake batter, and vanilla.
