A history as long as our wine list!

The District of Columbia’s First Spirits Shop.

Following the repeal of prohibition in Washington, DC, Ace Beverage Fine Wines & Spirits opened their doors in 1934 on 18th Street NW in the neighborhood now known as Adams Morgan. Harry M. Siegel, a Polish immigrant, owned & operated the store as it quickly became the destination for wine & spirits enthusiasts.  He built the business on stocking quality products and offering customer service that could not be beat.  In 1990 Mr. Siegel’s son moved the shop to the Foxhall neighborhood to accommodate the need for a larger warehouse space.  Today you will find two of Mr. Siegel’s grandsons at the store!  Ace Beverage is proud to be a 3rd generation small business.

We are frequently asked if we are a wholesale operation given our name, Ace Beverage.  In 1934 the name Ace was selected to appear at the top of the phone book listings!  We are your neighborhood wine & spirts shop plus a beverage caterer offering delivery for events large & small throughout Washington, DC.  We invite you to visit us and meet our team of enthusiasts and experts!
