Kilchoman Casado Limited Edition 2022 Single Malt Scotch Whisky comes from Kilchoman Distillery, Islay's first new distillery in more than 120 years and one of the few that remains independently family owned. Following a true farm to bottle philosophy, Kilchoman grows a portion of its own barley and carries out every stage of production on site. Casado, meaning "married" in Portuguese, was inspired by the centuries old practice of marrying Port wine in large oak vats before bottling. Kilchoman adapted that concept by marrying whisky in fresh Portuguese red wine casks for an extended period, creating an expression that combines vibrant fruit with the distillery's signature coastal peat.
