Description

Singani 63 is a clear Bolivian grape spirit made from Muscat of Alexandria grapes grown at high elevation. Floral aromatics, fresh grape, citrus, and a clean, lightly perfumed finish make it feel somewhere between pisco, unaged brandy, and a bright cocktail spirit. Bottled at 40% ABV, it is especially useful in sours, mules, spritzes, and citrus-driven highballs.

Producer

Singani 63 was founded by filmmaker Steven Soderbergh after he discovered singani while shooting “Che” in Bolivia. The spirit is produced by Casa Real, one of Bolivia’s major singani producers, using grapes from estate vineyards in the Santa Ana Valley near Tarija. The name “63” references Soderbergh’s birth year, 1963, while the spirit itself reflects Bolivia’s centuries-old national drink tradition.

Cocktail Suggestions

Singani 63 is a natural fit for a Chuflay with ginger ale or ginger beer and fresh lime. The ginger highlights the spirit’s floral Muscat grape character, while the lime keeps the highball crisp, bright, and easy to serve.

It also works well in a Singani Sour with fresh lemon or lime juice, simple syrup, and egg white. The citrus sharpens the grape aromatics, while the shaken texture gives the cocktail a smooth, refreshing balance similar to a pisco sour.
